ion exchange resin for sugar decolorazation

- Apr 25, 2019-

Ion exchange resins are used in the sugar decolorization process.

Raw sugar melt has some natural and artificial colorants that impart color to the sugar melt like Xanthrophylls, Carotene, Melanoids, Caramels, etc. Raw sugar melt is passed through a set of resin column to get the desired sugar purity. Typically Styrene and Acrylic resins are used for this purpose depending on the sugar inlet color and the desired outlet color. Some advantages of using Lanlang® resins here are listed below:

  • Exceptional physical and chemical stability leading to long life

  • Excellent osmotic stability

  • High operating capacity and low rinse requirements

  • Higher decolorization ability
