Further information:
The main factors affecting IX are flow rate, raw material concentration, temperature, and so on.
-Flow rate
The flow rate of the raw material liquid actually reflects the time to reach the reaction equilibrium. During the exchange process, ions undergo a series of steps of diffusion-exchange-diffusion, and it is important to effectively control the flow rate. Generally, the larger the flow rate of the exchange solution is, the higher the dialysis capacity of the ions will be. Therefore, an appropriate flow rate should be selected according to the exchange capacity and the like.
-Raw material concentration
The exchangeable ions in the resin and the same-sex ions in the solution may be exchanged or repelled. The liquid ion concentration is high, the resin has many opportunities for contact, and it is easier to enter the resin mesh. The liquid phase concentration is low and the resin exchange capacity is large , The opposite is true. However, if the liquid ion concentration is too high, it will cause shrinkage of the pores on the resin surface and internal cross-links, and it will also affect the ions entering the pores. Experiments show that at a constant flow rate, the higher the solution concentration, the greater the solute loss volume.
-Temperature
The higher the temperature, the more intense the thermal movement of the ions. Increasing the number of collisions per unit time can speed up the reaction rate. However, if the temperature is too high, the adsorption strength of ions will decrease, and even the thermal stability of the resin will be affected, which is economically unfavorable. It is more appropriate to use room temperature operation in actual production.
